One of my bucket list is to travel from Philippines to Venice, Italy obviously to see Grand Canal but traveling outside the country is pretty expensive.
Luckily, here in the Philippines we have a tourist destination inspired by the grand canal, the “McKinley Grand Canal Mall” that is located at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
3:30 pm, my cousin called me and he said “punta tayo venice!” I replied “sige” For an instance, my boredom turned into excitement. 4:40 pm, we rode a jeepney bounded to McKinley, as we expected there’s a heavy traffic because it’s sunday but no worries, McKinley is not far (from our place) as you imagined.
Even though Taguig now, is a highly urbanized City, there are some spots where you can enjoy nature. Every time I stare at this photo I always found myself smiling, you know why? Who would imagine that behind the fact that Metro Manila is home of skyscrapers, you could see that beautiful sunset.
After 35 minutes we’ve finally reached Venice Grand Canal mall.
This is the center of attraction in the mall, the grand canal. Well, there’s no question about it. See, It’s much better at night!
While walking, you will see souvenir shops, lemonade and smothie stalls, people making selfies (Venice is definitely instagramable) shops, fastfoods, and of course restaurants!
Lists of restos and shops:
Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)
Cafe Mary Grace
Churreria La Lola
Coffee Bean Tea and Leaf
Cotton candy (I love their pig cotton candy)
Ponte Rialto restorabte italiano
Rice and Dough
S & R Pizza
Sunglass Haven to

Best Day to visit
You can visit Venice every day, its open for public (no entrance fee) but I’m telling you this, weekends are the most popular times especially when 6pm kicks. So if you are planning to go on saturdays or sundays, be ready for a bunch of people playing patentero with you.
Thanks for reading everyone. You are all amazing!
